Ideas Change Everything

A TEDx talk is a showcase for speakers presenting well-formed ideas in under 18 minutes. These talks are geared to capture the audience's attention for a short period of time and expose them to an idea worth spreading. 

TEDx talks YouTube channel has approximately 37.5M subscribers and there are a HUGE variety of topics. Here's a great video from Chris Anderson and TED Studio that discusses TED's secret to a great formula. 

TEDx's content guidelines ensure that there are no commercial, political, inflammatory rhetoric, religious, or bad science agendas and any submissions containing any of these will be immediately removed. There will also not be any panel discussions or audience Q&A however there will be networking opportunities provided. 

TEDxOldHickory's theme for 2023 is "Innovation for Social Change". The 2024 theme is "Launch". We will be featuring a diverse range of topics and speakers that are focused on making an impact in their communities. These impacts can be locally, nationally, or globally focused topics and we encourage unique topics and perspectives. 

TEDxOldHickory and the assigned speaker selection committee will review all applications submitted. We will select speakers that have relevant and impactful ideas. Once speakers have been selected we will notify each speaker and work with them to help discuss, curate, and prepare their talk. 

No, partnering with TEDxOldHickory will have many benefits but a guaranteed speaker slot will not be one of them. 

Yes, TEDxOldHickory reserves the right to change the event program, speaker lineup, performance details and start and finish times at our discretion. Reasonable efforts will be made to notify everyone of those changes.
